Weekly meal planner
Plan the week, shop once
Write in a meal for each day, or pull one from the idea list. Add each meal's ingredients and they roll up into one grocery list, merged and sorted by aisle.
Your plan is saved in this browser as you type.

How to use the planner
- Switch off the meals you don't plan, such as breakfast, with the buttons at the top.
- Type a dish into a slot, or press the list button beside it to choose from MealWhim's ideas or your favourites. Ideas arrive with their main ingredients already listed.
- Open Ingredients under a meal and write one ingredient per line, with amounts if you know them: 2 onions, 500 g minced beef, 1 tin chopped tomatoes.
- Tick things off the grocery list as they go in the trolley, or move an item to another aisle if your shop lays things out differently.
The same food in the same kind of unit is added up, so two onions on Monday and one on Thursday become three onions; grams and kilograms add together, as do teaspoons, tablespoons and cups. Amounts in different systems sit side by side (1 cup + 200 ml milk) rather than being guessed. Print gives you the week and the list on paper; Share link packs the whole plan into a web address you can send to someone you cook with.
Questions
Is my meal plan uploaded anywhere?
No. The plan is saved in this browser's storage on this device. A share link carries the plan inside the address itself, after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server.
Why did two ingredients not merge?
Items merge when the name matches and the units can be added up. Large onions and red onions stay separate, and so do cups and millilitres. Lines the planner can't read with confidence, such as "1 cup plus 2 tbsp flour", are listed as written so you can check them.
Can two people use the same plan?
Send a share link. Whoever opens it can load the plan into their own browser; after that, each copy is separate, so send a fresh link when the plan changes.
